Feminism, sexuality, and college students
In my class, Judaism, Medicine, and Healing, we made hypothetical contracts for incoming Jewish freshmen regarding sex. My professor (Vanessa Ochs who came to speak at the Feminism and Religion meeting) suggested to the class that we could create a seminar for real incoming freshmen called something like "The Birds and the Bees Part II" to talk about having a healthy sexual life. This would not be a religious seminar, and I hope to contribute by adding in some of my feminist sensibilities. If anyone has any suggestions for how to incorporate feminist sensibilities into attitudes towards sex, hooking up, relationships, etc, that would be particularly useful to freshmen, let me know! |
