Pregnant Man
Thomas Beatie, a 34 year old man, is pregnant. He was born "Tracy" and in his twenties decided that he was more comfortable being a man. He had his gender legally changed on his birth certificate, so he and his wife, Nancy, are legally married. Thomas had surgery to remove breast tissue, started taking testosterone, but left all of his female genitalia intact. Since his wife, Nancy, cannot have children, they decided that Thomas would. (His wife inseminated him with a syringe using sperm purchased from a sperm bank). "It's not a male or female desire to have a child.
