Sexual Assault on Women in the Military
I was listening to NPR today at work, as I love to do, and this morning on the Dianne Rehm Show there was a segment featuring Helen Benedict, author of "The Private Soldier," a non-fiction book about the current state of Sexual Assault and Women in the Military. It was a VERY interesting interview and, as an army brat, this is a topic that I find really troubling. They also spoke with Kaye Whitley, director of the Defense Department's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office (which i didn't even know existed! but was very glad to find out). You an listen to the full program here on the Dianne Rehm Website. Any thoughts on the issue of sexual assault on women in the military / the role of women in the military? |
