90% of Girls Experiance Sexual Harassment
A recent study found that 90% of girls between the ages of 12 and 18 experiance sexual harassment. Latin and Asian girls reported less sexual harassment than other girls. Older girls and girls from lower socioeconomic backgrounds reported more sexism as well. The most common forms of sexual harassment were unwanted romantic attention or physical contact, demenaing gender-related comments and teasing based on appearance. The study also found that girls who had a better understanding of feminism were more likely to recognize sexual harassment.
