health care bill
so the health care bill passed. I've mostly heard people ranting about it, from both sides. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the whole abortion debate with what would be covered, Stupak, Nelson, etc. Personally I'm not happy with the way things turned out but I'm grateful it passed and there's at least abortion coverage for rape, incest, and health concerns to the mother. Of course this is not enough in my book - abortion by choice is not covered. I just found a great article on a way to look at abortion and I encourage you to read it. It makes a very good point - seeing abortion legally instead of emotionally or even politically. And why should we cover other procedures that could have been avoided by personal choices? (cancer from heavy smoking, heart attack due to bad diet/no exercise) food for thought. |
